Lolita Secrets

Heheh...one of my Japanese module's project is on the Gothic Lolitas of Japan.
Really fun! We are suppose to submit the project as a documentary proposal to the Discovery Channel. Ha..i actually suggested the title of the docu to be "Victoria Secrets" cos of their resemblance to those victorian dolls...but my group violently objected. It was deemed too porn-sounding. So it evolved to "Lolita Secrets", still sounds kinky i guess..

Tanoshikattane...

Met up with Sensee, HuiLuan-san & Matthew-san (Jing sprained her leg..so waited for us at cine) for Nobuyoshi Araki's exhibition at epSITE, Epson Imaging Gallery - "Flowers by Araki". http://www.epson.com.sg/other/othersites/flowers_by_araki.shtml
It was indeed interesting and I left thinking about why this Tensai (genius) actually thought of featuring flowers. I felt that a flower is almost like a human. Flowers possess inherent colors that give them their beauty. They are painted with vibrant colors to mesmerize and capture attention. But when the rain falls, the paint fades and the beauty slips away.

Then we took a slow walk to Cineleisure where we had our dinner at Kobayashi...it is highly recommended not to have dinner there. The japanese food is not authentic and tastes worse then those served at the Arts canteen. Then Ninh-san and Cindy-san joined us for the movie - "Swing Girls". All of us laughed and swayed along with the cast. It's somewhat similar to "Waterboys" and just as kawaii.

Thereafter, we chilled out at Starbucks. I did not expect the outing to turn out so well. We hardly know each other, but bonded by the common interest for the Japanese language. And the other Sensees will sure rather surprised that Okada Sensee's class are sill in contact. It was not until I announced "Moo Jikan desu" that the rest decided to head home. Minasan, kiotsukete!

Heavy hearts, like heavy clouds in the sky, are best relieved by the letting of a little water.

I am back blogging. I guess I miss it.
I had friends askin me y i stopped blogging a month ago. I guess i finally come to a compromise with myself that i shall not blog anything over personal. I just want a medium for me to put my thoughts in black and white.

The black theme symbolizes grief. I was overwhelmed by grief when I read my friend's blog. Her father, whom she had been so close to, left her 3 weeks ago right in front of her eyes. She finally picked up courage and blogged down her grief. It was not long ago before I attended a friend's father's funeral and before that, got to know a friend's mother had passed away too.

from dear dad:
If tears could build a stairway,
And memories a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken
o time to say good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
And secrets tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know.
